Aurora BayCare Partners With National Wrestling Tournament in Kaukauna
Over the weekend over 400 wrestlers from across the country took to the mats at Kaukauna High School for the annual Cheesehead Invitational Wrestling Tournament and Aurora BayCare's Sports Medicine team was there to support them.
"Our sports medicine team has worked closely with the Kaukauna wrestlers leading up to this tournament," said Aurora BayCare orthopedic surgeon Dr. Harold Schock. "It is great to see them compete at such a high level, in a tournament of this caliber. It’s also another way our partnership with the high school contributes to the health of its students and the overall benefit of the community."
The Cheesehead Invitational is a two-day high school wrestling tournament hosted by Kaukauna High School. It attracts some of the top teams around the country, according to organizers. This year, the 31 teams hailed from Wisconsin, Minnesota, Iowa, Illinois, Missouri, Alabama and Arizona. Eight of the teams were new to the tournament this year.
Aurora BayCare Sports Medicine was the presenting sponsor of the 2017 Cheesehead Invitational, providing athletic training and medical services to all of tournament’s wrestlers.
