Frequently Asked Questions

  1. Who does the event benefit?
    Proceeds for the event benefit the Greater Green Bay YMCA’s Strong Kids Campaign. The Strong Kids Campaign directly supports children, teens and adults in our community.
  2. What do I get for my entry fee?
    All participant receive a long sleeve t-shirt if registered before October 10, 2012. There will be refreshments after the race. All participants are eligible to compete in our costume contest.
  3. How can I sign up for the events?
    You must register online. You may also register during packet pick up on Friday, October 26th from 3pm-7pm or Saturday between 7am - 8:30am.
  4. What are the age limits of the race?
    There are no age limits. We encourage participants of all ages to join us. You do not need to pay for a young child who is being pushed or pulled in a wagon or stroller. The only reason you might consider registering them is if you would like them to receive a t-shirt as well.
  5. Are the race events walker-friendly?
    Yes, we have plenty of participants who will walk. If you plan to walk the race, we do require that you line up at the back of the runners.
  6. Where can I find the course maps?
    The course maps can be found here – 1 mile course, 5K course.
  7. May I wear my MP3 player and/or headphones?
    You may wear your music listening device, however, please keep the volume at a low enough level so that you may hear course officials and fellow participants for safety reasons.
  8. Are both events timed?
    No, only the 5K run/walk is timed. The One mile run/walk is not timed.
  9. Are stroller or pet dogs allowed during the race?
    Strollers and dogs are permitted with restrictions. If you choose to run with a stroller or pet, you must seed yourself in back of all the participants. It is your responsibility to make sure the stroller or pet dog does not impede other runners, as well as take extra precaution to your safety and the safety of the runners around you. Anybody with a dog must have the animal on a leash and pick up any waste from the pet.
  10. How will I receive my race packet?
    You must pick up your race packet before the event on Friday, October 26th between 3pm-7pm or Saturday morning between 7:00-8:30 a.m. inside the Aurora BayCare Sport Medicine Center located at 1160 Kepler Drive, Green Bay.
  11. Do you accept credit cards for registration on race day?
    No, cash or check only.
  12. Will there be any water stations on the course?
    There will be one water station located at mid-way through the course, and clearly marked.
  13. Where can we park for the race?
    Parking will be available on the Aurora BayCare Medical Center Campus. See map for specific locations.
  14. Are there awards for costumes?
    Yes!! For the costume contest, you must be a registered participant and complete the event in your costume. During the run/walk, judges will be looking for originality, authenticity and overall theme and craftsmanship. Costume winners will be announced with the finish awards.

We will also have prizes first, second and third place finishes for both male and female for the following age groups: Overall, 14 and under, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60 and up.
