VO2 Max Assessment

The VO2 Max Assessment is used by endurance athletes to determine their current functional capacity and as a gauge for future progress.

Whether you are an elite athlete looking to gain a competitive edge or a beginner just getting started with a fitness routine, a trained fitness exercise physiologist will review your current workout plan to assess efficiency and direction of your fitness goals.

This VO2 Max Assessment is the single best test to measure aerobic fitness. Aerobic fitness is the ability to use oxygen at an efficient rate during muscular work. A high level of aerobic fitness is desirable for high endurance sports or activities.

The VO2 Max measures the maximum rate at which oxygen can be breathed in, transported through the blood stream and used for muscular contraction. Knowing the results of this test helps athletes to train smarter – not harder – and advance beyond current fitness goals.

VO2 Max can be determined using a treadmill or stationary bike. During this test, the athlete wears a mask to measure respiration values.
