Rehabilitation & Other TherapiesMassage TherapyTherapeutic Massage is offered at ABMC as a part of our healing focus to health care. Massage therapy is used as a complement to traditional types of health care and also as a means to improve a person's well-being. Through skillful touch and applied techniques, massage therapy can facilitate relaxation, increase circulation, reduce tension and pain and improve energy flow. Our experienced staff of certified massage therapists use the healing power of touch to provide care to patients, family members, community members and hospital employees. In our private clinical setting, aromatherapy can also be incorporated with massage therapy services. Individualized treatment Our massage therapists provide high quality care incorporating individualized treatments and approaches based on your needs and medical history. We incorporate many techniques into our treatments and may include Swedish Massage, Therapeutic Massage, Therapeutic Touch, neuromuscular massage, myofascial release, CranioSacral Therapy and Reiki. Our Massage Therapists also provide on-site massage for Vince Lombardi cancer patients, pre-op massage, and both prenatal and postnatal massage as part of our Planetree approach to health care. Additionally, our client services can be extended to inpatients (with physician approval) and for on-site massages in the facility both as part of our fee-for-service programs. Benefits of Massage Therapy In addition to relaxation and stress reduction, Massage Therapy can provide relief of headaches due to anxiety or stress, reduce chronic pain and relieve muscle tension. Massage therapy may also improve circulation and range of motion, enhance focus and concentration and provide for an enhanced sense of well-being.
