A combined effort between parents and physicians

At Aurora BayCare Medical Center, we want to help your children grow to live active, healthy lives. So we team up with parents and caregivers, taking a comprehensive approach to pediatric care. Not only do we focus on prevention and the treatment of illnesses and injuries, but we also emphasize education, training and support for anyone who gives care to children. Your involvement is always encouraged … and we’re more than happy to answer your questions to help you make informed health care decisions.

An environment that’s centered around the family

The staff of Aurora BayCare Medical Center is always finding new ways to make life better. That goes for children’s health care as well.

Our goal is to create a caring, compassionate environment where families with sick or injured children can turn for help. Whether it’s a scheduled visit to our Aurora BayCare Medical Center Physician Offices or an unexpected trip to the Emergency Department, we center our care around you, combining the latest medical breakthroughs with thoughtful advances in pediatric health care.

We’ve designed the pediatrics unit at the Medical Center to help your child feel as safe and comfortable as possible. This unit features a beach, lighthouse and a nurses’ station shaped like a boat. Other special touches include “starlight” nighttime lighting, private hallways, clothing options and on-site family suites.

Emergency care for children

Accidents and illnesses can happen anytime. That’s why it’s comforting to know you have the full resources of a regional medical center in your own backyard. Our Emergency Department is open around the clock to provide immediate, high-quality care to your children, whenever you should need us.

Aurora BayCare Medical Center is staffed by board-certified emergency medicine physicians and nurses experienced in providing pediatric care. These are professionals who have received advanced training in handling all types of emergencies involving young people. Supporting them is a whole team of on-call specialists – including a toxicologist, critical care physicians and pediatric surgeons – as well as nearby radiology, laboratory, and anesthesiology services.

To accommodate families with small children, we’ve also designated special pediatric rooms and a play area within our Emergency Department to make your visit as comfortable as possible.

Note to parents: Please take time to complete a “Consent for Treatment of a Minor” form for each child in your household and keep it on record at Aurora BayCare. This form allows our physicians to administer medical care promptly to your child if you cannot be reached. And remember, in the case of an emergency, always seek care from the closest Emergency Department or call 911.

How to make an appointment with our physicians
