Family accommodations

For the convenience of your family and friends, we have hotel-like rooms available for rent on our 5th floor. The cost of an overnight stay is $62.00. Please contact the Inpatient Lobby at ext. 3250 for more information or to make reservations. Roll-away cots are also available on our patient care units upon request. Please ask your nurse.

Community resource library

The Community Resource Library is located on the 4th floor of Aurora BayCare Medical Center just to the left of the gold elevators. The library is open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday to physicians, staff, patients and the general public. The library is designed to be a center for all of your health information and decision-making needs. Our collection contains books, videos, reference materials and medical and health journals. A full-time librarian is available to help you find just the piece of health information you are looking for! Books in the library may be checked out for two weeks.

Family lounges

Adjacent to our 2nd, 3rd, and 4th floor Medical/Surgical units are family lounges. Each lounge has a kitchenette (microwave & refrigerator), and a small library featuring health resource materials and fiction novels, as well as internet access. These lounges are open 24 hours a day.

Gift shop

Our gift shop is adjacent to the Inpatient Lobby. It is operated by volunteers and is open Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Based on the availability of our volunteers, the shop is occasionally open evenings and weekends. We have an array of gifts including baby and children items, board games, disposable cameras, magazines, books, balloons, cards, stamps and fresh flowers. We also offer an overnight film developing service. We accept cash, checks, MasterCard, VISA and Discover.

Interpreter service

All patients in need of vision, hearing, and/or language interpretive services are provided such services at no cost 24 hours/day, 7 days/week. To utilize these services, please contact your nurse.

Messages will be delivered Mon. - Fri., 9 a.m. - 3:30 p.m., Central time. Although we cannot guarantee it, we will make every effort to deliver orders received by 1 p.m. the same day. Orders received after 1 p.m. will be processed the next business day.

If the patient has been discharged when we receive your order, or we are unable to locate the patient based on the information provided, we will let you know via email.

Keeping family and friends informed

This free service allows you to share information about your loved one's condition with friends and family. The information can be shared as an attractive and secure Web page. We know how hard it can be to keep family and friends in touch and we hope this service will help.
