Aurora BayCare Opens New Walking Path

One Mile Path Will Promote Health in the Community

Green Bay, Wis. – Construction of a one mile paved walking path around the Aurora BayCare Medical Center campus is now complete and open to the public, patients, visitors and the community.

"Eleven years ago today, Aurora BayCare opened with the goal of bringing superior health care to the Northeastern Wisconsin," said Dan Meyer, president of Aurora BayCare Medical Center. "This walking path is a commitment to continue to promote and encourage overall health and wellness for the community, visitors to our hospital campus and for all our caregivers."

Constructing a new walking path is just one of the commitments Aurora BayCare provides to our employees and the community. Additional commitments to Aurora BayCare employees include:

• On-site workout facilities
• Healthy food options
• Free flu vaccinations
• Free health risk assessments
• An annual run/walk

"The health of our community is always a priority and I'm pleased to see area businesses taking ownership and stepping up to the plate to provide health environments and options for their employees and the community," said Green Bay Mayor Jim Schmitt.

"We are a destination hospital," added Meyer. "Patients and their families travel to Aurora BayCare from great distances for medical care. Now, family members and visitors can access this safe walking path to take some time away from the inside of the hospital and get some exercise at the same time."
