Salm-Schmid and her team offer a breast cancer screening called the GAIL Model. This screening uses a woman's personal medical history, reproductive history and history of breast cancer to calculate the risk of developing breast cancer over five years and her lifetime.

If a woman is considered high-risk, she has access to genetic counseling, specialized monitoring through breast exams and diagnostics, and preventive medicine to reduce breast cancer risk.

Aurora BayCare was the first hospital in the Green Bay area to offer SAV.

SAVI is a minimally invasive breast cancer treatment that sends radiation to precisely targeted areas of the breast and conserves breast tissue. This therapy reduces treatment time from several weeks to days and gets a patient quickly back on her feet.
