Obstetrics and Gynecology
Course Description
The six-week clerkship is inclusive of both outpatient and inpatient experiences within multiple areas of Woman's Health. The student is expected to actively participate in all rounds, procedures, and activities relating
to the care of the Obstetrics and Gynecology patients seen. While patients are the focus, the student is expected to complete required reading and attend lectures as assigned to supplement the clinical experiences and provide
education on Obstetrics and Gynecology conditions, which are not seen during the clerkship.
Clinic Descriptions
Aurora BayCare Medical Center (ABMC) supports and participates in a number of highly varied clinical experiences. In order to maximize the clinical experience of the clerkship, medical students are rotated through many
specialty clinics. Individuals within each clerkship group will have different, yet comparable, experiences. Just as the volume and diversity of patient interactions will vary, so too will the clinical assignments. Our goal
is to maximize the student exposure to Women's Health programs. The student's schedule should be viewed as a minimal template for the rotation. The students are offered a degree of flexibility in the schedule to take advantage
of interesting cases, which become available.
